By using Essentra you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. What Essentra is

Essentra is a nutrition tracking app for people who train. It lets you search foods, build meals while watching their macronutrients and micronutrients stack up, log what you eat, and see it against a calculated daily target.

2. Essentra is not medical advice

This is the most important term here. Every number Essentra shows you — calorie targets, macronutrient targets, micronutrient comparisons, fueling suggestions — is a calculated estimate, derived from the information you enter and from published reference data. It is:

• not medical, dietetic, or nutritional advice,
• not a diagnosis, and not a statement that you are deficient in anything,
• not a substitute for a physician, registered dietitian, or qualified coach.

Nutrient figures come from third-party databases (USDA FoodData Central, and community-contributed entries from Open Food Facts) and may be incomplete or wrong. Health and activity figures come from your device and from wearables we do not control.

Consult a qualified professional before changing your diet, especially if you are pregnant, have a medical condition, an eating disorder or a history of one, or take medication. **If you have a medical emergency, contact emergency services — do not use this app.**

You are responsible for your own dietary decisions.

3. Your account

You need an account to keep a persistent diary. You must give accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and be old enough to form a binding contract where you live (at least 13, or the higher local minimum). You are responsible for activity under your account.

4. Your content

The foods, meals, notes and profile details you enter remain yours. You grant us only the licence needed to store, process and display that content back to you so the app can work — no other use, and nothing public.

5. Acceptable use

Do not: use Essentra unlawfully; attempt to breach or probe its security; scrape, resell or redistribute its data; reverse engineer it except where law permits; interfere with its operation; or use it to harm anyone, including yourself.

6. Third-party data

Food data is provided by USDA FoodData Central (public domain) and Open Food Facts, whose database is licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL) v1.0. Reference intakes derive from the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements. We credit these sources in the app and do not warrant the accuracy of their data.

7. Availability

Essentra is provided "as is". We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, suspend or discontinue features. We will not delete your account data without cause or notice, except as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Ending it

You may stop using Essentra at any time and delete your account from Settings, which permanently removes your data. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms.

9. Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and accuracy of content. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for any health outcome arising from your use of the app, and our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the preceding twelve months or US $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply only as far as permitted, and nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Apple

Essentra is distributed through the App Store. These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support for Essentra, and is not responsible for any claim about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

11. Changes

We may update these terms and will update the date above. Continued use after a change means you accept it. Material changes will be signalled in the app.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence still apply to you.
